St. Albans Anglican Church Rockton Ontario
St. Albans Anglican Church in Rockton, Ontario was built in 1869. Originally, services were held in this building twice on Sundays and by 1949 were only held monthly. Services stopped in 1950. Since then, it is only used for occasional concerts, weddings, funerals and similar celebrations.
The building has no power or water, therefore no washrooms. Special arrangements can be made for some instances.
Capacity is approximately 100 people.
Regular celebrations are held in the spring, the fall and close to Christmas.
The group called “Friends of St. Albans” look after the building and the grounds and receive support for maintenance from services and local service clubs.
There is a surrounding burial ground and fenced yard. Recently, a new sidewalk and fence has been added.
Large mature trees surround the building and it is on a street with local traffic.
